The Grid

The Grid is part of scrolls where you place your units/scrolls. The Grid is the battle field where all the action takes place. Whenever your unit attacks it will move following the grid in order to reach the desired area. To help protect your scrolls, you could place your units behind a stone wall, which is part of the grid.
